International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO)

A UNESCO advisory body which was founded in Geneva at the end of the 1960s. Its high-quality programmes have given it an excellent international reputation: Primary Years, Middle Years and the Diploma Programme, which leads to the International Baccalaureate award.Currently, pupils from 610 top quality schools in 83 countries on the five continents are studying for the International Baccalaureate.

World Organisation for Early Childhood Education (OMEP)

The Institución Educativa SEK is a member of this organisation because we recognise the importance of caring for children from an early age.

The OMEP is an international non-governmental organisation that deals with early childhood (0-8 years) on a global scale. It has an advisory remit from UNESCO, UNICEF, ECOSOC and the Council of Europe, and is represented at meetings of these bodies.

Its fundamental aims are:

 - To stimulate research into early childhood education.
 - To disseminate documentation and other information.
 - To collaborate in teacher training.
 - To support training and assistance for parents.
 - To organise conferences, meetings, discussions and seminars on any topic related to childhood education

International Schools Association (ISA)

Fue creada en 1951. Con sede en Ginebra, la Asociación Internacional de Escuelas (ISA), propició tanto el Bachillerato Internacional como el nuevo Programa de Años Intermedios, que se imparten en todos los Centros SEK.
Its main objectives are:
- To promote peace and international understanding through education.
- To assist in the development of member schools and organisations.
- To collaborate with international organisations, with which it maintains constant contact, in the development of cultural, scientific and technical cooperation.
