Culture is not an exclusive area unrelated to education. On the contrary, it is one of the most relevant aspects of true learning and provides the basis for excelling on a personal level.
For over half a century the Culture Classroom has been a traditional part of SEK. Learning by example puts our pupils in touch with the most prominent figures in all areas of expertise and is one of the defining elements of our schools. As an example, and as a tribute to our “teachers extraordinaires”, we can cite the following: Gerardo Diego, Antonio Buero Vallejo, Andrés Segovia, Camilo José Cela, Luis Rosales, Maestro Rodrigo, Julián Marías, José Luis Pinillos, José Mª Azcárate, Santiago Grisolía, Miguel Fisac and Gonzalo Torrente Ballester. In our ART GALLERIES artists such as Vela, Úrculo, Vives Fierro and Santiago de Santiago have all exhibited their work.
Countless CONCERTS have also been held for our pupils, including performances by the SEK Chamber Music Ensemble, the Leningrad Chamber Orchestra, the New Young Philarmonic Orchestra and the Kiev Philarmonic Orchestra.
