A far cry from the old concept of boarding schools, the SEK Residences are excellent educational environments for training and learning the basic social skills. Students can organise their time better and so take full advantage of the academic programme, cultivate strategies, skills and techniques for studying with the support of the teachers and make use of the advanced technological resources at their disposal.
However, the Residences are not only places where students come to study; they are also places where they can develop their personality in an environment of freedom and responsibility. They live together with other students from different communities and nationalities. Major educational and learning objectives are Intercultural exchange, understanding of diversity, acceptance and mutual respect.
The academic programme is complemented by sports (tennis, swimming, horse riding, basketball, indoor football...), together with other recreational and leisure activities such as travel, excursions, cultural visits, outdoor activities, attendance at conferences, concerts and the theatre, clubs (environment, photography...) and competitions
The Residences also provide accommodation to students from high performance sports teams.
The installations and services comply with the strictest quality criteria. The Residences comprise dormitories with three or four beds, large bathrooms, study and living rooms, nurse and doctor's surgeries, daily cleaning, washing and ironing services, television, satellite and video, student support, 24-hour security and excellent spaces for sports and recreation.
The SEK-El Castillo and SEK-Catalunyaschools have both male and female Residences.
The University Campus of Camilo José Cela also has its own student Halls of Residence.
